Hans Hultgren is a faculty member of the ITEC Department at the Daniels College of Business. Mr. Hultgren has been teaching at the University of Denver for the past thirteen years and has been a member of the full time faculty for the past six years. Over the past several years, Mr. Hultgren focused on building a new graduate-level data warehousing and business intelligence program at the Daniels College of Business. Mr. Hultgren is currently working on a Data Warehousing text book with Bill Inmon, Claudia Imhoff, Lowell Fryman and Dick Scudder.

Prior to joining the University of Denver full time, Mr. Hultgren founded a transportation management software company serving truckload and intermodal carriers. In addition to this company, he has been involved with several other start-up ventures. Mr. Hultgren has experience managing large systems development projects and working with strategic information systems planning for both private business and state government.

Mr. Hultgren consults in the areas of data warehousing, business intelligence, analysis and design, data modeling, project management, small business development, strategic planning, team building, and supply chain management. Maureen Clarry

Maureen Clarry is President and CEO of CONNECT: The Knowledge Network
She regularly speaks on leadership and team issues related to information technology organizations and projects. Maureen is on the faculty of The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI) and hosts the Leadership and Management channel for B-Eye-Network. Maureen participates on the Business Intelligence Advisory Board for The Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. She is a frequent speaker at DAMA and PMI chapters around the country and is also on the Board of the Colorado Chapter of TDWI.

CONNECT has been recognized as the South Metro Denver Small Business of the Year, and has been listed in the Top 50 Women Owned Businesses, the Top 250 Privately Owned Businesses in Colorado, and by the Denver Business Journal for Denver’s Outstanding Business Women.

Bill Inmon

William H. Inmon, "The Father of Data Warehousing"
Bill Inmon, world-renowned expert, speaker and author on data warehousing, is widely recognized as the "father of data warehousing." He is creator of the Corporate Information Factory and more recently, creator of the Government Information Factory. He has over 35 years of experience in database technology management and data warehouse design, and he is known globally for his seminars on developing data warehouses. He has been a keynote speaker for many major computing association and many industry conferences, seminars, and tradeshows.

As an author, Bill has written more than 650 articles on a variety of topics about building, using, and maintaining the data warehouse and the Corporate Information Factory. His works have been published in major computing journals including Data Management Review and The Business Intelligence Network where he continues to be a featured columnist. He has written 46 books, many of which have been translated into nine languages; one has sold over one-half million copies.

As entrepreneur, Bill founded and took public Prism Solutions in 1991. In 1995, Bill went on to found Pine Cone Systems, later named Ambeo. In 1999, Bill created this Web site to educate professionals and decision makers about data warehousing and the Corporate Information Factory. This popular and easy-to-use Web resource, www.inmoncif.com, contains much of Mr. Inmon's written work and related material, including methodologies, technical white papers, articles, and data models. In 2003, Bill co-founded Inmon Data Systems, Inc. and created the Government Information Factory, an architectural blueprint for building government information systems. This "go-to" portal for government IT systems can be found at www.inmongif.com.

Bill consults with a large number of Fortune 1000 clients, offering data warehouse design and database management services. He has worked for American Management Systems, Inc. and Coopers & Lybrand. Bill received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Yale University, and his Master of Science degree in Computer Science from New Mexico State University. He makes his home in Colorado.


Claudia Imhoff

Claudia Imhoff, Ph.D. President of Intelligent Solutions
A thought leader, visionary, and practitioner in the rapidly growing fields of business intelligence and customer focused-strategy – Claudia Imhoff, Ph.D. is a popular and dynamic speaker and internationally recognized expert on analytical CRM, business intelligence, and the infrastructure to support these initiatives – the Corporate Information Factory (CIF). Dr. Imhoff has co-authored five highly-regarded and popular books on these subjects and writes monthly columns (totaling more than 60) for technical and business magazines. She has an expert channel, newsletter, and blog at www.B-EYE-Network.com. She has served on the Board of Advisors for DAMA International and was chosen by the DAMA organizations to receive the 1999 and 2005 Individual Achievement Awards. She is an advisor and a faculty member for The Data Warehousing Institute and the Daniels School of Business (University of Denver) and serves as an advisor for several technology and commercial companies.

Dr. Imhoff delivers keynote addresses at conferences sponsored by software companies and their user groups, The Data Warehousing Institute, The Economist, COMDEX, and many international organizations. She has appeared repeatedly on World Business Review, Microsoft’s Getting Results programs, and web casts sponsored by the B-EYE-Network, Better Management, and several technology vendors.

Dr. Imhoff founded Intelligent Solutions, Inc, a well respected Business Intelligence (BI) and CRM consulting and education firm in 1992 to support clients developing BI and analytical CRM applications using data warehouses, data marts, and operational data stores. Her company has successfully completed the design and construction of analytical CRM and BI environments for over 150 enterprises in virtually every industry, as well as federal and state governmental agencies.

Daniel Linstedt

Daniel E. Linstedt is an internationally known expert in data warehousing, business intelligence, analytics, very large data warehousing (VLDW), OLTP and performance and tuning. He has been the lead technical architect on enterprise-wide data warehouse projects and refinements for many Fortune 500 companies. Linstedt is an instructor of The Data Warehousing Institute and a featured speaker at industry events.

He has worked with companies including: IBM, Informatica, Ipedo, X-Aware, Netezza, Microsoft, Oracle, Silver Creek Systems, and Teradata. He is trained in SEI / CMMi Level 5, and is the inventor of The Matrix Methodology, and the Data Vault Data modeling architecture. He has built expert training courses, and trained hundreds of industry professionals, and is the voice of Bill Inmons' Blog on http://www.b-eye-network.com.

He is a founding member of the Academic Advisory Board for post-graduate degrees at the Daniels School of Business, University of Denver. Kent Graziano

Kent Graziano is a recognized expert in the Oracle community for his work in BI/DW, data modeling, and project organization. He has over 25 years of software and applications development experience with the last 18 years devoted to Oracle, Oracle Designer, and related tools. He has over 12 years of Data Warehouse modeling, architecture, and implementation experience in a variety of industries including telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, food services, K-12 education, sales, and marketing. Kent has spent over a decade developing and leading successful software and data warehouse implementation teams. He has given over 40 presentations, and written as many articles, on various RDBMS, data architecture, and information technology topics and is often an invited speaker for both national and international events.

Kent is the founding chair of the BI/DW SIG of the Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG) as well as one of ODTUG’s past presidents. He is a member of Oracle’s BI/DW Customer Advisory Board. He is also a past President of the Rocky Mountain Oracle Users Group (RMOUG), a member of the International Oracle Users Council, and was the first Dean of the International Oracle Users group (IOUG) University. Kent was the recipient of the 1999 Chris Wooldridge Award (from IOUG) for outstanding contributions to the Oracle user community. In 2003 he was presented with The Doug Faughnan Award for his dedicated service and outstanding contributions to RMOUG.

Kent is one of the pioneers of Universal Data Models having coauthored the 1st Edition of The Data Model Resource Book with Bill Inmon and Len Silverston. He is also the coauthor of Oracle Designer: A Template for Developing an Enterprise Standards Document.

Kent is currently employed by Hewlett-Packard as a senior data architect for the Sales and Marketing Portfolio group in the Global Business Intelligence and Enterprise Data Warehouse organization. Lowell Fryman

Lowell Fryman is a thought leader in data warehousing, enterprise application integration, and business intelligence, having hands-on experience with over 100 implementations and been a speaker at over 40 international conferences. He is a Certified GIF™ Architect and has been recognized by Bill Inmon as a contributor to a number of his books. Over the course of his career, Fryman has developed technology best practice courses and trained thousands of professionals in data warehousing, data quality, project management, and enterprise application development.

Over the last few years he has implemented enterprise meta-data programs, technology evaluations, and business intelligence Centers of Excellence for two major international corporations. Currently he is co-authoring a book, “Business Metadata: Understanding the Enterprise ”. He is also a member of the Curriculum Advisory Board for Data Warehousing, Daniels College of Business, Denver University and guest lecturer for the program.

Shawn Rogers - Executive Vice President & Executive Editor
Shawn has over 16 years of hands-on IT experience with a focus on Internet-enabled technology. Prior to Co-founding the Business Intelligence he was a Partner at DM Review magazine. He also held various executive level positions including Vice President and Associate Publisher.

Shawn also held the position of Editorial Director for both DMReview.com and dataWarehouse.com, most recently serving as Director of Internet Business Development at Thomson Media. His past industry experience and wide knowledge of both IT and business management enable him to provide extensive industry insight for the Business Intelligence Network.
